Annette Drewes
Annette teaches at Bemidji State University and lives in the heart of wild rice country. She is interested in the long term conservation of wild rice and wild rice harvesting. She recently completed her doctorate, studying wild rice
management, distribution of wild rice lakes across state, tribal and treaty ceded lands, and the relationships harvesters have to wild rice and the lakes they harvest. Currently she serves as coordinator for SORA.
Todd Kneeland
Todd is a teacher and school bus driver who has been ricing since 1964. He believes that one of the closest places to heaven is in a rice boat on a rice bed surrounded by friends and family harvesting wild rice. He lives in Moose Lake with his wife and favorite ricing partner Louise.
Greg Leff
Greg is a trapper, leecher and traditional harvester of wild rice. He is an enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe. Greg and his partner have a privately funded wetland and conservation project on land that they own. He is interested in the whole
ecology of wild rice.
